About

Pátzcuaro Cultural is an independent, collaborative, and citizen-led effort coordinated by Colectiva Nosotras, based in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, Mexico. It is dedicated to promoting cultural activities, spaces, and ventures. It seeks to democratize and publicize the wide range of cultural services and cultural tourism in Pátzcuaro, helping to counteract the degradation of intangible cultural heritage and other negative effects of mass tourism. The project also seeks to strengthen artistic and cultural activity in Pátzcuaro by promoting its artists, spaces, voices, work, and ventures. Finally, we seek to offer spaces and avenues for dissemination to historically excluded individuals and ventures, so that tourism benefits a broader segment of the population, without discrimination based on socioeconomic status or location.
